        Museum ini dikenal sebagai museum musik yang pertama dan satu-satunya di Indonesia. Di dalamnya, terdapat koleksi yang memperlihatkan sejarah perkembangan musik di Indonesia dan dunia. Total terdapat lebih dari 17 ribu koleksi di museum ini. Koleksi itu terdiri dari berbagai bentuk, seperti piringan hitam, CD, VCD, kaset ataupun dokumentasi lainnya dan berasal dari berbagai genre musik, seperti pop, latin, jazz, rock, dan lain-lain.
